UX and UI for an enterprise project management tool to align business strategy and financials

This project was phase one for a startup trying to create a new project manager tool that aligned business strategy, finances and projects in a single tool.
Phase one was to build out the project management side of the tool, but keeping an approach on how this would align with business strategy and finances.

After working with the client to define who the end users were and work out what was needed for the initial phase, unlike a a traditional pm tool we wanted to make sure there was a focus on not just project managers, and project teams but also making sure administration, finance teams and executives/leadership teams could also get a high level overview of how a project was tracking in relationship to groups of projects, work streams, with the financial of the project rather than just how the project was tracking in terms of percentage completed.

Once we had an idea of what and who, the project was mapped out as user stories and MoSoW applied to define a backlog to work from, as we were working on the PM tool we also mapped our own stories to the similar ideas we were wanting to implement.

First task was mapping out high level user flow, key screens and states that were required and then attached to each user story. Then working with a solution architect to define what data was needed from APIs and how we could make it fast and work in real-time for users to make sure that we had apis and processes to make sure the app was focused on performance and delivering APIs that our customers could also use.

While the backend APIs were being developed I worked building a component library built using Vue.js using Storybook following an atomic design methodology and getting the leadership team to approve visual direction and start making sure we had components working in isolation before integrating with real data. Once the APIs started to be fleshed out the various components were used an applied to build out each user story and develop the application.
